Ergonomic Service

In accordance with Safety, Health and Welfare At Work Act 2005 every employer shall ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of his or her employees.

Ergonomics is the science of fitting the task to the person. It can be defined as the study and design of work places, work processes and work systems.

UrBod Healthcare provides an ergonomic service which is for the purpose of protecting health and preventing occupationally related disease of the health of the employees so that any adverse variations in their health that maybe related to working conditions are identified as early as possible which in turn reduce absenteeism and exposure to the effects of musculoskeletal issues.

Musculoskeletal disorders can range from temporary fatigue to neck, shoulder and back strain to ongoing pain in the hand, wrist, and arm. Workers may also experience visual difficulty and headache or even injury depending on the tasks being performed and the design of the work area.

UrBod Healthcare workstation assessments consider many aspects of human and workplace interaction. This is achieved by careful design, selection and location of VDUs, correct design of the workstation, immediate physical environment and the tasks involved as well as training, consultation and involvement of the employee.

Most adjustments recommended by UrBod Healthcare are easy to implement and have profitable long-term effects for the health and well being of the individual.
